Cy Young scrapbooks: scrapbooks, 1894-1931 1894-1903.

A collection of five scrapbooks, purported to have been assembled by Cy Young, containing newspaper clippings that document his career as a pitcher on several major league teams. The majority of these articles were printed in major urban newspapers and contain boxscores and accounts of games played by the teams on which Young was a player at the time. Also present are articles about Young as a pitcher, general articles about baseball, and baseball cartoons. Unique to volume 4 is the presence of letters and telegrams received by Young. Unique to volume 3 is a loose portrait photograph of a baby identified as "Denton True Gaswood, born March 13, 1912."
